Holy Week and Easter at Saint Patrick Church

We will observe Holy Week with two special, intimate services.

Maundy Thursday is April 6. We’ll celebrate with an observance of the Lord’s Supper and commemorate the night Jesus was betrayed, when he gathered with his friends for Passover.

Good Friday follows on April 7. We’ll observe a tenebrae service. Tenebrae means “shadows” or “darkness” in Latin. We’ll hear the seven words Jesus spoke from the cross, and extinguish candles until it is dark.

Both of these intimate services will happen at Pastor Andy’s home. Email him at pastor@saintpatrickdenver.com for the address.

Easter is Sunday, April 11. We will meet as usual in the sanctuary of Corona Church at 11am. Join us for coffee and a treat at 10:40.

Serving our Unhoused Neighbors

On the second Saturday of each month, we partner with Agape Christian Church to serve lunch for our unhoused neighbors.

Serving is straightforward: show up at Agape at 9:30; collaborate with others to prepare the selected meal of the day; serve the meal; clean up. Depart around 12:00.

Contact David Simmons to sign up to participate on January 14, February 11, March 11, and so on.

Jan 29: Ordination, Installation, and Meeting

On Sunday, January 29, we will ordain new deacons, and we will install previously ordained deacons and elders into office. This will be a special opportunity to celebrate what God is doing in the lives of these individual women and men, and in the life of our church.

After the service—which will be somewhat abbreviated—we will have a light lunch and a congregational meeting to present and discuss the 2023 budget.

We look forward to your presence on that day!

On Wednesday, March 2, Saint Patrick will have a pancake supper—a pre-Lent tradition in some church streams—and a worship service with communion and the imposition of ashes to mark the beginning of Lent. Andy will begin our Lenten series of meditations on the seven words Jesus spoke from the cross.

The supper and service will take place at Pastor Andy’s family’s home in Denver. Supper will begin at 5:45pm and the service will begin at 6:30pm. Contact Andy for the address (pastor@saintpatrickdenver.com). All are welcome. Bring a friend!

Budget Meeting

On Sunday, January 30, we will hold a congregational meeting in the parlor after the worship service to go over the church finances. A light lunch will be offered. Please plan to join us!

Installation service for Andy Stager

Welcome Stagers!

On Sunday, December 5, Saint Patrick Presbyterian Church will host a called meeting of the Presbytery of the West, which will install Andy Stager as Senior Pastor! Worship, vows of commitment, charges, music, and a special sermon by Saint Patrick founding pastor Shane Sunn will be led by a commission of the Presbytery. 11:00am. We’ll hold a reception after the service to honor our guests and our new pastor and his family.

New Senior Pastor

Welcome Pastor Andy!

In September, we welcomed our new Senior Pastor, Andy Stager, into our fellowship. Andy is excited to learn the rhythms and heartbeat of Saint Patrick, and to partner with our church in its next season of mission and ministry here in Denver. His bio is available here. Welcome, Andy!

Officer nomination

We are now receiving nominations for the offices of elder and deacon. If you wish to nominate a candidate, please first obtain permission from that candidate, and then simply let someone on the Session know whom you wish to nominate (via email, text, carrier pigeon, word of mouth, etc.). Nominations will be received throughout the month of September.

Meeting 8/14

We are having a congregational meeting tomorrow for the purpose of voting on whether or not to call Andy Stager as senior minister. Our meeting will begin five minutes after the service in the sanctuary. Members, let me encourage you specifically to make every effort to come to the meeting. Few decisions have as much impact on the life of a church than that to call a new senior minister.

Fellowship Lunch 7/25

July 25th we will be hosting a Fellowship Lunch after our worship service. Please join us as we welcome the pastoral candidate and share a meal together.

Pastoral Candidate Visit

The Search Committee is excited to announce that a pastoral candidate will be preaching on July 25th and August 1st! Please pray particularly for discernment as we hear from this candidate and meet face-to-face.

Service opportunity

Casa De Paz has bought a home and will be moving in the next couple of months. However, there are lots of things to be done before then. Please read through their list of needs and fill out their form to let them know how you would like to help!

St Pat’s Parenting Group

St Pat’s Parenting Group: Would you like to share the joys and frustrations of parenting with others who are “in the trenches”? Join us on Zoom every other Thursday night at 8pm. We’re discussing Paul David Tripp’s book Parenting: 14 Gospel Principles That Can Radically Change Your Family.

Updated Policies for Worship | In Person

Persons fully vaccinated may now worship without masks at St. Pat's. We encourage those who have not been vaccinated to continue wearing masks during worship. Since our sanctuary provides us ample room, we will continue to practice social distancing in worship.

Updated Policies for Worship | Online

5/23 be the last Sunday that we Zoom our corporate worship. If there are members or regular attenders of St. Pat's who do not feel comfortable returning to corporate worship at this time, we encourage you to reach out to the Session and let us know. We will be happy to make suggestions for how you might feed your soul until which time you feel confident returning to corporate worship, recognizing, of course, that there is no real substitute for the gathering of God's people to hear the Word preached, celebrate the sacraments, sing, and publicly confess our faith.

Joel Ansett Concert

6:30pm to 8:00pm. Join us for a night of songs and a time of prayer for the Ansett family as our church commissions them to enter into full-time music missions work through Saint Patrick Presbyterian Church.

Children's Ministries Meeting

Families with children, children's ministries leaders and volunteers, and anyone potentially interested in volunteering, please join us immediately after the service on May 23rd to discuss next steps for children's ministries at St. Pat's. Lunch will be provided.

Good Friday Service

It is with heavy hearts what we celebrate the never-to-be-surpassed goodness that our savior died on the cross for us. We will be conducting a Good Friday service tonight at 6:30pm in the sanctuary. If possible please wear darker/ muted clothes.

Worship Service Canceled

The Christian life is one of faith and expectation in things promised to come. While the word of your average meteorologist is decidedly less reliable than the word of God, we have, nevertheless, made the decision to cancel our Worship Service tomorrow based on forecasted snow and driving conditions in the city and the greater Denver area. Please stay safe and warm, and don't hesitate to reach out to the elders, deacons, and/or staff of St. Pat's if you need anything. We look forward to regathering as the people of God next Sunday.

Serving Our City Event

Our first Serving Our City event featuring Casa De Paz with Sarah Jackson will be Thurs March 25th at 7pm. Join in as we learn more about ways to serve immigrants being detained here in Denver. The House that Love Built by Sarah Jackson tells the story beautifully but is NOT required reading. The Zoom link will be on the website and emailed closer to the event date.

Church Meeting 1/31

Please join us for a congregational meeting in the multipurpose room after the service! Feel free to bring some snacks/ lunch. The worship service zoom link will also be available for online attenders.

New Elder & Deacon

We are pleased to announce that Michael Kochie has been confirmed as an Elder and Sara Russell a Deacon over Saint Patrick Presbyterian Church. Please be praying for both of them as they step into their new leadership rolls.

Worship is now at 11

Remember that our service is now at 11am due to Corona Church restarting their in person service. See you then!

Meeting 10/11

In keeping with the process for nominating persons to church office outlined in the EPC's Book of Order and our own bylaws, we'll be holding a congregational meeting immediately after the service one week from Sunday (October 11th). At that meeting, the nominating committee formed at our last congregational meeting will propose candidates for the offices of elder and deacon/deaconess. Additional nominations can be received at that time from members, but only if the nominees in question have already been approached and have agreed to be nominated.

Picnic in the park

This Sunday is the first of the month, so we'll be gathering at Cheesman Park (on the east side right next to the playground) for a picnic (BYOF) immediately after the service.
